2012 started the evolution for the RAMPAGE. A direct derivative from the legendary & innovative X series subwoofers (XM, X2C, X26).
Although the RAMPAGE XM is based on a 4″ coil platform, its performance will not stand in the shade of its heritage. In many ways, it pushes the boundaries even further.
The new B2 basket offers superior cooling with improved SAFT (Smooth Air Flow Tech) and has the ability of offering even more XMAX than the previous design. A massive 3.15″/ 80 mm peak to peak is handled by the B2 proprietary 315 mm / 12.4″ spiders, that are among the largest you will find on any traditional 15″ subwoofer without the use of cheap and flimsy adapters.
The new B2 basket offers a triple landing so you can customize the stiffness and spider size to your application.
Years of research into the XM and X2C subwoofer design has resulted in our new OCAFv2 motor design (Optimized Cooling And Flow). This technology allows a massive increase in cooling for both the motor and voice coil allowing for a more stabilized operating temperature even at full volume levels. To break it down, you can push them longer and harder than you would traditionally expect.
This voice coil features a 4" internal diameter and 4.33″ outer diameter, along with an 8 layer tall wind design manufactured in the United States. This design is made for daily torture or demos for days!
The RAMPAGE XM’s motor keeps the same 11″ diameter as previous XM subwoofers, but the triple stack slugs are increased by 25%. Still we are able to keep the entire height of the motor to a mere 10% more than 2nd gen XM. With the longer Xmech, the added 10% comes into play.
Another tool was made for the XL composite dust caps with embossed B2 logos. The half spherical design with wider wedges stiffens up the cone, offering greater stability and helps keep that transient response tight. So when the bass drops its always clean, crisp, and on point. Using a slightly wider stretch foam surround there’s less mechanical parts that will limit your stroke.
*It is essential that our subwoofers are given time to allow the suspension to soften up. Depending on use, this may take several weeks. While this process is undergoing, it is not recommended to apply full amplification power according to the subwoofers specs. Once the moving parts have been broken in, the performance of your subwoofer will increase.
